What causes indoor air pollution?

Many everyday things may cause poor indoor air quality in your Ocala home.

This includes:

  • Chemicals in [carpeting, furniture and drapes that give off fumes
  • Cleaning supplies
  • Paint
  • Personal care products
  • Air fresheners and candles

Though they are usually more efficient, modern homes don’t ventilate the way older homes do. Snug weather stripping and storm doors keep interior air in and exterior air out. This offers better energy savings, but the lowered exchange of outdoor and indoor air can trigger particles accumulating indoors.

When this occurs, a whole-house ventilation system is advised. Ventilation systems swap out dirty interior air for more breathable exterior air without giving up energy savings.
