Here’s What to Do When Your Furnace Won’t Ignite
We are making our way through the last few weeks of winter but we still have to have our furnaces, especially during cool nights. Not much is worse than turning in at night just to find out your furnace won’t kick on. If you find yourself in this situation, here are a couple things you can check yourself before your call Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning.
Check Air Filters
You should replace standard air filters every 30 days. If you fail to do so, they can get clogged, obstructing air flow and resulting in a furnace malfunction.
Check Your Thermostat
See if turning the temperature up a few degrees will get the furnace to turn on. If the current room temperature is higher than the thermostat, the furnace won’t run. Also, confirm the system switch is on “heat” or “auto.”
Check the Power
It may seem obvious, but verify the power switch next to the furnace is “On.” Even gas heating systems use electricity so confirm the breaker has not tripped and that the power switch wasn’t accidently switched to the “Off” position.
If you review all these things and your heating equipment will still not kick on, give Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning a call at 954-736-4314 and we’ll come out and get you heating again as soon as possible.
