The Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning Corporate Office in Plano, TX was honored to give 324 pounds of food to Minnie’s Food Pantry, also located in Plano.
“Last fall, I had the chance to get a group of colleagues to volunteer at Minnie’s and it was an incredible experience,” said Amanda Wilson, Operations Specialist for Service Experts. “They do so much more than just collect food – they are a crucial part of this community.”
Cheryl Jackson began Minnie’s Food Pantry as a way to celebrate her mother, Minnie Hawthorne-Ewing D.D., who spent much of her childhood wondering if and where she would receive her next meal. Minnie’s doesn’t just provide free, healthy meals to families in need, they also hold classes to teach families how to incorporate the food they receive to make nourishing, long-lasting meals. They also give resume aid along with financial and job classes to help members of the community get back on their feet.
Since the families receive approximately 50 pounds of food to get them through the month, Service Experts was able to provide meals for six families for the month.
“Everyone was so excited that we had this food drive for Minnie’s Food Pantry, and they even took us around their awesome facility,” Wilson said.
