In early July, a peaceful Black Lives Matter-organized protest was concluding when shots echoed in Dallas. Chaos ensued and by the end of the night, nine Dallas police officers were hurt and five lost their lives.
Within days, Dallas business owners and community leaders united to raise funds for the police officers and their families. Dos Jefes, a local bistro, hosted “Dine for Dallas Blue” and all of the money raised from the dinner and silent auction they hosted were given to the fallen and injured officers and their loved ones.
General Manager Tony Polendo of Calvlery Service Experts was more than honored to help.
“I was celebrating my birthday dinner only blocks away from the horror that occurred that evening,” Polendo remembered. “That night struck a chord for me. As a military veteran, I have the utmost respect for any person who wears a uniform in an endeavor to protect and serve the community.”
“When my colleague reached out to ask if we would support this charitable event by merely attending, I wanted to show our support to not only attend, but donate our time and effort as well.”
Tony and the Calverley Service Experts team coordinated with Lennox to auction off a new heating and cooling system with installation included at the Dine for Dallas Blue event. Check out the pictures below of the installation.
“I am both honored and appreciative for the opportunity to have participated in such a worthwhile event,” Polendo said.
From your family at Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning, we are truly sorry for the loss of the Dallas law enforcement community and for the relatives of Lorne Ahrens, Michael Krol, Michael J. Smith, Brent Thompson, and Patrick Zamarripa.
